About Andy

Why I could be the right coach for you
My name is Andy Ball (and my furry friend here is Arlo), and for much of my life, I struggled with a sense that something wasn’t quite right. Professionally, I’d built a career working for several FTSE 100 companies as a Continuous Improvement Specialist.

In this role, I coached and facilitated large groups of teams and individuals in problem solving and improvement methods/ tools to help them streamline their manufacturing and business processes across the UK.

While I thrived in my professional life, I often found myself facing personal challenges that I couldn’t fully understand. Gravity and daily life just seemed much heavier for me!
My ADHD Diagnosis: A Life-Changing Discovery

As a child, I swung between being the class clown and the quiet, introverted kid staring out the window, lost in thought. My teachers at the time thought I had difficulties hearing. Social relationships were difficult, and in adulthood, I kept returning to therapy, trying to make sense of feelings that I now understand as Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD), a common symptom of ADHD.

At 41, a chance conversation completely changed my life. A former work colleague told me of their sons ADHD discovery and the symptoms leading up to their diagnosis. I connected with their story which made me want to explore ADHD further, leading to my official diagnosis. For the first time, everything in my life began to make sense. Having this label allowed me to forgive my past mistakes and accept myself fully.

I became passionate about learning everything I could about ADHD. This journey not only helped me better understand myself but also led me to advocate for others. As the Area Lead for the Autism and ADHD Network, for a public body with over 10,000 employees, I worked to create better systems of support for neurodiverse individuals. It was a rewarding experience that confirmed my calling to help others like me navigate their own ADHD journeys.
